Thursday 12.31.15 – It’s New Year’s Eve!

It’s New Year’s Eve.  So come out for the morning classes and mess around.  You’ve worked hard this week, so come out and treat today like a recovery workout.  Reminder of the New Year’s Eve and Day hours:

Today:  Morning Hours only, 5:00-11:00 am
Friday, New Years Day:  Closed
Saturday:  Normal Saturday Hours, 8:00 and 9:00 am classes

Skill:  Play time!  Spend 15:00-20:-00 practicing: Handstand Walks, Free Handstands, Handstand Holds, Handstand Push Ups, Wall Walks, etc.  Just play!

Capt. Gina Dixon, USAF, (left in photo), a former member of ours who died tragically earlier this year.  It would be her birthday today and she loved doing handstands!  Any CrossFit Gym she trained in, anywhere in the world, with whomever, she would post pictures upside down, one-armed, on a KB, freestanding, etc!  So our skill work today is in honor of Gina!

Conditioning:  OTM for 14:00:
– 3 Overhead Squats
– Up Downs or Hollow Rocks for remainder of minute*

*Odd minutes: do Up Downs
*Even minutes: do Hollow Rocks

For the Overhead Squats.  Go light!  Work on full depth, controlled movement down and speed out of the bottom.  Lifting the shoulders out of the bottom.  Weight should be roughly PVC pipe – 50% max.
