Sunday 10.11.15 – Why Barbells for Boobs?
Friday, October 23rd, we will be doing “Grace” along with many other CrossFit gyms across the world doing the same workout all month long.
Why do we fundraising for Barbells for Boobs?
So that together we can take action to raise funds and help detect potentially life-threatening breast cancer occurrences. Barbells for Boobs is dedicated to the early detection of breast cancer, with an emphasis on women and men under the age of 40.
Erica started the “Team Compound” page at this link HERE.
Erica donated $80.00 in honor of Patty Schmitz and said, “I do this workout in honor of Patty who beat it and in memory of Grandma Lorraine and Auntie Denise. You are all with me and give me strength during this workout and each and every day.”
What is the workout?
Friday the 23th, the gym will be doing “Grace”, which is 30 Clean and Jerks for time. But the workout can be done in many ways, and ANYONE can do it. You can increase the weight, you can decrease the weight, you can add penalties every time you put the bar down. I’ve seen some people program partner wods of “Helen meets Grace”. You can even do it with a PVC pipe! We can make the workout work for anyone!
Invite your friends to come out and join us, it’s free to anyone, all day long, but everyone is encouraged to donate at the link above if they can.
Here’s how you can help:
1) Invite anyone and everyone to join us Friday the 23rd
2) Make a donation of any amount on our fundraising page. For every $80 raised, ONE more person will know if they are living with breast cancer.
3) Additionally, you can help spread the word and help me reach my goal by sharing this page on Facebook and Twitter. Or even better, send an email to friends you think might be interested in contributing and include a link to my page.
Together, with one unified voice we can make a difference. Together we can help.
Everyone Has a Right to Know.
